"In 2007 we went to Nicaragua on a
mission trip with Amigos for Christ. We
were amazed at how MUCH Amigos
does with so LITTLE money. In order to
improve school attendance, Amigos has
feeding programs at the schools they
build. For $100 a year, they can feed a
child twice a day at school. This
encourages school attendance.
Education is the key to providing hope,
developing work and leadership skills in
these children. Thus, chances of later
involvement in crime, drugs and alcohol
are reduced.
We want to do everything we can to be
sure these Nicaraguan children with
such warm eyes and open hearts have
the same feelings of hope that our
grandchildren have in America.
